-
TVUS (transvaginal ultrasound):
In this screening test ultrasound waves are passed through vagina with the help of ultrasound wand to observe uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. It can detect tumour developed in ovaries but can’t identify whether it is cancer or not.
-
CA-125 blood test:
This screening test is useful for measuring the amount of a protein called CA-125 present in the blood. It is observed that, women with ovarian cancer have high levels of CA-125. But women with high levels of CA – 125 does not mean that she is having ovarian cancer. It may be caused due to common conditions such as endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
